This pattern shows you how to knit three different hats with super bulky Peruvian wool yarn — a basic beanie, a longer slouch hat, and a ribbed brim hat. Each hat is simple and easy to make with large needles. Obviously, knitting speeds vary, but you should be able to knit one of these hats in about an hour. The pattern comes as a PDF file, which should become available to download as soon as your payment clears. This is not the actual knit hat! You will need to know how to knit and purl, how to knit in the round, and how to use both circular and double pointed needles. If you've made hats before, this pattern should be pretty easy.Cost: One skein of the Cascade Magnum wool yarn is about $20-$22. You can get 2-3 hats from one skein, depending on the type of hats. Slouch hats take more yarn than beanies. You will need a size 17 20-inch circular needle (I recommend Addi Turbos) and a set of size 15 DPNs. If you have trouble finding those, you can also substitute a set of size 17 straight needles. You will just have a seam to sew up.
